  • Maze Runner by James Dashner – I loved this book from the moment I read the title. It has just the right amount of action and suspense to get me through the day.
  • Book Thief by Markus Zusak – The book is true to it’s title because it totally stole my heart.
  • Divergent Series by Veronica Roth- All I can say is this series has a safe pass into 2015. Yeah, it’s that good.
  • The Giver by Lois Lowry-   After the movie, we should remember to always cherish the classics.
  • If I stay by Gayle Forman- *Sniff* *Sniff* * Grabs tissue to dry eyes * I admit , I read this book more than 3 times. Trust me I’m going to re-read it until my eyes don’t have anymore tears and I break a record.

Book Review of “Girl Named Disaster” By Nancy Farmer

362916-MYou never really  experience freedom until it’s taken from you. That’s how 11 year old Nhamo felt when she finds out that she has to marry a unknown cruel man. She feels as if the  speck of freedom that she thought she had was taken right out of her hands. It’s was as if she saw it coming and didn’t want to admit it to herself. Courage was the only thing that will helped Nhamo on her brave journey to freedom.

The book reveals the life that some girls in countries have to endure. It explains the true meaning of courage, and how to enjoy your childhood while you still have it because you never know when it may be taken from you.

Only a few girls like Nhamo have the chance to escape, to find a way out of such inhumane actions. On her journey she has a goal, it’s to find her dad and turn a new leaf. To start a new life where she could actually have a childhood.

The drama and suspenseful filled book “ A Girl Named Disaster”  was written by Nancy Farmer who wrote three Newbery Honor Books including A Girl Named Disaster and won  the U.S National Book Award for Young People.

Nancy Farmer is just one of the few authors that had the guts to write about how girls are treated like property instead of people.

In conclusion the book shows the inner beauty and bravery, which young girls have inside of them and makes you think about how it would feel to be sold and to another human being.
